In this workshop we will create sacred space to access the wisdom of our dreams. We will explore the symbols of our dreams, create a dream journal, learn ways to increase dream recall, incubate dreams, and learn dream re-entry techniques. We'll explore dream interpretation using several perspectives including the use of the Medicine Wheel, and the shaman's way of dreaming. We'll also learn about gifts we have brought into this lifetime and learn how our dreams are connected with our gifts.
Dreaming, as defined in Webster's Dictionary, is a "sequence of sensations, images, thoughts, etc., passing through a sleeping person's mind". The study of dreams has been around since the first caveman tried to tell his cave-mates the crazy dream he had about flying elk!
In our dreams, we can go anywhere, be anybody, and do anything. Unless we are experiencing a lucid dream, our mind takes over and we are just along for the thrillride.
Sometimes, dreams can be understood in the the context of repressed thoughts. Dreaming serves as an outlet for those thoughts and impulses we repress during the day. When we go to sleep at night and slip into our dream state, we feel liberated and behave and act in a manner that we do not allow ourselves in our waking life.
Visions and ideas can come from your dreams. Authors, screenwriters and poets turn to their dreams for stories. Artists and musicians explore dreams for their inspiration. Dreams can help us find solutions to our daily problems and see things from a different perspective.
The workshop will consist of two sessions.
